Grasshopper Tennis

Screen Shot 2014-06-26 at 1.46.38 pm.png

WALT: improve our small ball skills and racket control skills.

Success Criteria
I think
My buddy thinks
I can balance and move the tennis ball on my racket.
Screen Shot 2014-06-26 at 1.54.08 pm.png
I think that I'm good cause I go slowly at the start to got the ball moving nicely.
Screen Shot 2014-06-26 at 1.54.08 pm.png I've seen you do it and I can see that you are good.
I can use the ‘temple’ position to hit the ball across the net to my partner.
Screen Shot 2014-06-26 at 1.54.23 pm.png
I think I'm OK cause some times it happens and sometimes not.
Screen Shot 2014-06-26 at 1.54.23 pm.pngI think your almost there but you just need a little bit more practices
I can use my skills to play games like ‘just juice’ and ‘lobster tennis’.
Screen Shot 2014-06-26 at 1.54.08 pm.pngWhen I watch you play I see that you look comferdent and you play well.
You can balance the ball and move it on your racket. You use the temple position and your other skills to play 'tennis' games successfully. Remember you don't have to score all the points to have a great time!

Telling The TIme

WALT: share our learning about telling the time

Success Criteria:

  • text and some images
  • check we have the correct time
  • clear message (explanation)
Blue Hat
What did I learn? I learned that if you show other people your learning it can help them so they can get to the stage that you are
Black Hat
What did I find the most difficult? nothing really was difficult most of it was easy.
Green Hat
What would I do differently if I could start my learning about time again? I would make a movie and show all what I know about time.

You have the correct time and have used clear language to explain how to tell the time, you are a great teacher! This would be a great poster to help kids who are learning to tell the time. Remember the 'tall' hand is the minute hand and the short hand is the hour hand. This might help you as you keep practising telling the time.

Haiku deck

WALT: summarize what we read

Success Criteria:
Find the key words
Record the main ideas
Retell what we have read
What have you learned? I've learned that if I summarise my reading it will help me understand because I can feel the story.

Why is it important? Because then you can feel the character that's in the book like you were that character.

How are you going to use what you have learned? I've learned that if you summarize it will help me understand the the story better

What is your next learning step: my next learning step is to read the text and shear my ideas.

Have a nice day

You can find and record the main ideas and use the key words to help you.
What fantastic reflecting on you learning, you have understood the most important reason for summarising your story... It is to help you understand it better!

Kinetic/Potential Energy

This is me and my groups Kinetic and Potential Energy movie.
WALT: create an i-movie to demonstrate kinetic and potential energy

How will we know our movie is successful?
clear camera work (thinking about the sun, keeping the camera still-moving slowly, in focus
clear voices and image (volume, wind, background noises, mumbling)

Reflective Prompts:
I now know that: potential energy is stored energy and kinetic energy is the energy to move
I enjoyed: making the movie and how we decorated it
The most difficult was: planing the where we were to go and the right angel to film
Working with my group was: a little bit hard cause then they will not use your ides if they don't want to

What great learning about potential and kinetic energy and the swing is a fabulous model to show your learning. A fantastic honest reflection Bridget, it can be tricky working in a group but it can also be very helpful to your learning. You all have to share ideas and work together to grow the most powerful idea.

How will we know our movie is successful?
ü    up to 30 seconds long
ü   clear camera work (thinking about the sun, keeping the camera still-moving slowly, in focus)
ü    clear voices (volume, wind, background noises, mumbling)
ü clear message - might need to explain the images (text to match the words)

We are going to create an i-movie to show integrity and here it is...

How do you feel about your integrity movie?  I felt releaflet
What parts of it do you particularly like and why?
What did/do you enjoy about this your integrity movie

Your movie demonstrates integrity as Kayla is doing the right thing without being asked. The text you have added has a clear message explaining integrity.
Remember, integrity is something we can all show... at home, at school, at play. We can show integrity in our learning by doing the right thing and using our time wisely even when nobody is watching.
