Te Ahu a Turanga Noho Marae

Description:  In week 7, we had an overnight stay at the local Marae in Woodville.  We were immersed in Maori culture and participated in a range of activities.  We set two goals to focus on during our stay.

Big Idea:
1.  Did you achieve your goals?  How do you know? yes because those goals help me not have nightmares  and I didn't have nightmares

2.  What are you most proud of from the marae stay and why? that I leant how to weave an angle fish

3.  What challenged you the most and why? taking a shower with out people opening the door because they are not patient

Big Idea:
1.  Did you achieve your goals?  How do you know? yes because I felt safe with lots of people around me.

2.  What are you most proud of from the marae stay and why? I'm really proud of me because I found the way to weave a angle fish.

3.  What challenged you the most and why? getting to sleep because of the snoring others were making.

trasformation on our car logos

Description:  We have been learning about transformation.  We have specifically learnt that...
translation is when an object slides in any direction;rotation is when an object is turned around a central point;reflection is when an object is flipped and has a line of symmetry.
Our challenge was to design a car badge that contained at least one of these aspects of transformation.    This is my car badge that I have completed

Symmetry =2
Older =1

If I were to do it again then I would take more time to measure the out line.

Evaluation: I thought that measuring was the hardest and I thought the easy part was making the border. I want to learn how to find an easier way to get it perfect.

Feed back: I like the way you put the arrows for the way of the symmetry.
Feed for word: Maybe next time you can do some lines and not arrows.

story telling plan

Purpose: create a story to share orally
Description: Oral storytelling is a Maori tradition. We have been planning our own story to tell on the Marae in Week 7.

this is my plan that I have written down in my think book:

Big Idea: A few weeks ago poutama watched a video of a lady telling us a story by story telling. We thought maybe we could make our own story to story tell. We got to choose if we would do a life lesson or a made up story of how things work. I chose to do a made up story of how things work. So this is my plan of the characters and the settings on the left, and on the right is the story board. We need to think of how to engage our ordnance so they can get hooked in to be like "Oh I want to join in with this story.

Evaluation: The easy part was doing the actions but the hard part was doing the voices. If I did the recording again I would record somewhere not by the speaker that people give notices during class time.

Smart swimming goal

On week 6 of term 1 the school is going to the Lido for swimming sports. We have been practicing in the school pool an then Troy our new teacher for 2015 decided that we will video our selfs swim so we can see how we could do better when we are showing our swimming.

My first smart swimming goal is to to:

time my breaths so that i'm not struggling to breathe.

My second smart swimming goal is to

not have windmill arms so that my arms aren't strait.

My third Smart swimming goal is to:
do cat 'n' mouse right.

My first video could not be uploaded to blogger.

This is the second movie of me swimming:

I ACHIEVED MY GOALS!

stuck movie

Description: This is a movie about being stuck on a escalator.

this is my one that I did. HOPE YOU ENYOY!

Big idea: We watched the escalator movie and then we thought how we could make our own ones.

Evaluation: I think it was hard doing the jumping because I kept on hitting myself against the tunnel but the easy part was doing the acting and the voices. If I could do a different video it would be one that doesn't involve so much dirt and dust.

Feedback:I like how you kept on speaking while Memphis came up.

Feedforward:i think that you can put more movements with trying to help Hannah C
