The Digestive System

DESCRIPTION: We have made a short movie to share what we have learnt about digestion this term. we want to share it to you so you can learn what we've learnt.

Success Criteria
Our movie has:
*lots of interesting details about digestion that our audience won’t know
*clear explanations about each stage of the digestion process (talking clearly and loudly, using specific science vocabulary)
*clear images
*humour/interesting detail to keep the audience engaged

Here is our movie:

BIG IDEA: In Suzanne's science group we are learning about the digestive system. We planned on showing some of the things that we have been learning about in our science time.

Feedback/Feedforward: This post is really detailed but I think you need to put more information about what you did. Ross

Evaluation: the easy part of this movie was the parts that I did by my self. I think putting up with everyones behavior movie was the hard part. If I were to do this movie again I would chose a different group to work with because everyone accept me were being silly and annoying.

2 stars and a wish term 2

This is my two stars and a wish and we did it on the 19/6/15 week 9

here it is:

Kapahaka portfolio sample

Description: I't nearly the end of term 2 and in Poutama wants to share what we do on Mondays after lunch. We do e t reo or kapahaka. I'm doing kapahaka so this post is about kapahaka.

Here is the Kapahaka group:

Big Idea: From the start of the year I signed up for Kapahaka well I have been doing it before. Kapahaka is a maori class that we learn and sing maori songs. we do actions and we perform at the reagent sometimes.

Here are some questions I've been given to fill out:

At kapahaka I enjoy doing the singing and dancing because they are my favorite thing to do.

I am most proud of I can be able to help younger members

I find remembering the actions for the song Ho challenging because I think that when I learned it I didn't get some of the parts.

I am managing this challenge by looking at the front at the leaders and trying to learn by them.

A personal goal for me is to learn Ho until I can do it by myself without looking at the leaders by the end of term 3

Our school wide focus this term has been around showing excellence. I show this at kapahaka by trying my best of my abilities and I try to shine

Feedback/Feedforward: I think you described a lot about kapahaka. I don't think you have anything to work on. Atlanta

Horrobile nightmare

Description: My Goal in writing is to use connectives and conjunctions at the start of a sentence. It came from was when our writing group was first starting. I had no ticks on the goal words. I'm going to achieve one of the goals by using it in this piece of writing.

this is my plans that I did for my story:

My charters plan:

My settings plan:

Writing plan (hamburger plan):

" 'Y' chart plan:

Big Idea: We started to think of writing a narrative piece of writing based on this picture...

We started to think of writing a narrative story so here it is:

Feedback/Feedforward:I think you did well with your story but maybe next time you could work on making it a bit with some of the words are in it but you did well. By Katie:)
Feedforward:

Evaluation: I think I did good at putting the detail into the story but I think I could work on the characters feelings and the punctuation.

Bridget's maths sample (adding and subtracting)

------------------------------------------------------------
Description: In week 8 for maths we did a maths sample. We decided to do a post of what we do for maths. this post is about our strategies that we know. This Is my work that I have given to find out my work is the text at the bottom of the blue picture
------------------------------------------------------------

------------------------------------------------------------
Big idea: In week 8 for maths we did a few questions witch are adding and subtracting. So for these questions we had to fine out the answers 1, 2, 3 and 4. To solve the questions I used partitioning is the basics that you know example: 25+79=? to do partitioning this is what I would do 20+70=90 5+9=14 14+90=104 so the answer would be 104.
------------------------------------------------------------
Feedback & Feedforward:
good job on your post I like how you described what we were doing for math. Next time you could put the strategy inside of the question instead of the Big Idea. By Devin
------------------------------------------------------------
Evaluation: I think I did well at doing the strategies and working out the questions. I think I need to work on what are sums and what are difference. If I were to do this again I would use differant strategies instead of just partitioning.

Reading sample

Description: My goal is to expand my vocabulary. To help me expand my vocabulary I can have re-read a text to to see if I missed something, or I go and look to see if I can spot some words that I already know in the same word Example Information I can see info and then I realize that it's information.

Success Criteria:

  • I re-read so I can see if I've missed something.
  • I see if I can spot a word I already know.
  • I ask questions to get help.

Here is the Pebbles and Rock words poster

Feedback Feedforward: I think you have done really well with getting heaps of words that mean the same thing as the pebble words and making them more interesting but I think you can work describing what your goal is. By Katelyn.

Big Idea: In week 7 we did a Tic Tac Toe. We had to do a post of one of the Tic Tac Toes that we did. I chose were pebble and rock words. What you had to do in that one was you had to Chose 5 Pebble words (Big, Small, Happy, Sad, Good etc) and come up with at least 10 Rock words for each. Pebbles make a small blip when you throw it in a river. Rocks make a huge splash!
Here is an example:Happy is a pebble word Joyful is a rock word.

Evaluation: I think I did awesome at finding the words but I think I could do better at finding out what they mean. If I were to do this again I would plan out the layout more better.

The Big Idea said that I needed to do 5 pebble words instead of 3 but I had some problems
